Artist Statement

Through my work I explore queer representation and the societal implications of technology through the mediums of AI, virtual reality, web technologies, data visualisation, as well as collecting, matching, and collaging items and concepts. My work engages critically with art and technology, investigating how they can illuminate the often-invisible narratives of marginalized communities.

By creating projects such as “mrge”, which transforms the experiences of a micro-audience (transmasculine individuals) into accessible, high-production value product, I question how capitalism sets priorities on which societal groups are being represented in commercial production, thus shifting the focus from profit-driven narratives to the possibilities of smaller, experimental engagements. At the same time, I aim to also practically demonstrate the biases present in generative AI, revealing both its limitations and its potential for empowerment.

My artistic practice is rooted in a commitment to exploring the societal impacts of technology, grounded in personal experiences that shape my understanding of reality and personal identity.

Inspired by the aesthetics of modern web and graphic design, net art and critical digital practices, as well as my past work as a web developer and UX designer, I strive to create works that offer alternative ways to consider the complexities of our digital age.

As I look to the future, I am driven to develop commercial-quality experiences that defy convention and profitability-first thinking, while remaining deeply connected to the communities and cultures they represent. I’m curious to further explore the topics of (dis)information, surveillance, migration, neurodiversity, and activism.

Through my practice, I hope to inspire conversations that challenge the status quo and reconsider the role of technology in shaping our collective experience.
